Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner: What It Is and How It Improves Your Dental Experience

At Rancho Bernardo Cosmetic & Family Dental Care, we’re always committed to enhancing your dental experience through the latest technology. One exciting advancement we’ve recently added to our practice is the Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner — a high-tech device that’s revolutionizing the way we capture digital impressions of your teeth. But what exactly is this scanner, and how does it improve your visit? Let’s explore.

What Is the Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner?

The Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner is an innovative handheld device that captures detailed, 3D digital images of your teeth and gums. Unlike traditional dental impressions, which require messy putty materials that can be uncomfortable and sometimes trigger gag reflexes, this scanner uses light to create a precise digital map of your mouth in just minutes.

The Hygiene Advantage: Designed with Patient Safety in Mind

One standout feature of the Trios 5 is its “hygienic by design” construction. The scanner’s smooth surfaces and minimal openings make it exceptionally easy to clean and disinfect between patients, meeting strict FDA guidelines. This design significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination, giving you peace of mind during your visit.

Benefits for Patient Comfort

Traditional impressions can often feel unpleasant or cause anxiety, especially for patients with sensitive gag reflexes or dental fears. The Trios 5 scanner eliminates those concerns by offering a quick, non-invasive, and comfortable alternative. Many patients find the scanning process more pleasant and less stressful, contributing to a calmer and more positive dental experience.

Enhanced Precision and Treatment Outcomes

The digital impressions produced by the Trios 5 scanner are incredibly accurate, capturing even the smallest details of your teeth and gums. This level of precision allows our dental team to plan and execute treatments—such as crowns, veneers, and implants—with greater accuracy, improving the fit and appearance of restorations.

Additionally, digital scans can be sent electronically to dental labs instantly, speeding up the fabrication process and reducing turnaround times for your dental appliances.

Environmentally Friendly and Efficient

Using digital impressions reduces the need for disposable impression materials and physical storage space for molds, making the Trios 5 scanner a more environmentally friendly choice. It also streamlines your appointment by eliminating the wait time traditionally associated with impression setting and shipping.

What to Expect During a Trios 5 Scan

During your appointment, our dental team will gently guide the scanner inside your mouth, moving it over your teeth and gums. The device captures real-time images displayed on a screen, allowing you to see the process and better understand your treatment plan.

Elevate Your Dental Care Experience

The addition of the Trios 5 Intraoral Scanner at Rancho Bernardo Cosmetic & Family Dental Care underscores our dedication to providing you with safe, comfortable, and cutting-edge dental care.
